Kids Helping Kids: Hurricane Relief Contributions

The Children's Museum in Oak Lawn has set up a “Kids Helping Kids” fund to aid the children and families who have been affected by Hurricane Katrina.

      • All contributions collected will be donated to America’s Second Harvest. America's Second Harvest  is the nation’s largest charitable hunger-relief organization and is based right here in Chicago. 100% of the funds the museum sends in to America’s Second Harvest will be used for disaster relief.
      • The museum is also asking kids to write a letter or draw a picture to send to the children in the disaster areas, letting those children know that other kids – even as far away as Chicago – are thinking about them and trying to help. These letters will be sent at a later time, once the urgent needs of food, shelter and emergency care have been met.

At this time, financial support  for the children, families and individuals affected by the hurricane is critical.

    • Contributions, letters and drawings can also be sent directly to the museum. Please make your checks out to: America's Second Harvest with the words "Katrina Relief" on the memo line.
    • Credit card donations will be accepted in person at the museum. You may also charge a contribution over the phone by calling 708-423-6709 Monday - Saturday 10am- 4pm.
    • If you want to make a cash contribution, please do not send it through the mail but bring it over to the museum.

ALL MONEY RECEIVED WILL GO TOWARD HUNGER AND DISASTER RELIEF. Questions? Call the Museum at 708-423-6709
