Volunteers and Interns

Volunteer.jpgWe cherish our volunteers and we are always looking for more volunteers to join our family at the Children’s Museum. We offer a variety of volunteer positions both long–term and short-term with a variety of benefits. Volunteer positions include exhibit facilitation, special events and facility maintenance. Students, are you looking for service hours? Contact the Children's Museum.

We are currently have openings for volunteers in the following areas:

- Educational Programs
- Photography / Media
- Fundraising
- Woodworking

Starting in 2012, volunteer orientations are done twice monthly at 5:30pm on the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month.
All volunteers (including students looking to volunteer for service hours) are required to attend an orientation session prior to volunteering at the museum.  All volunteers 18 years old or older need to complete a criminal background check.

The museum accepts students as floor volunteers who are 13-years-old or older.

If you are under the age of 13, you can still volunteer! Take a look at our wish list and set up a collection drive or, ask us about coordinatiing a penny drive in your school, complete with educational guidelines that correlate with the Illinois Learning Standards.

The Children's Museum also has college internships available.
