We have recently teamed up with ExceleRate Illinois, the state’s quality recognition and improvement system designed to make continuous quality improvement an everyday priority among early learning providers (licensed centers, licensed family homes, school based preschool and Head Start). It awards quality designations (Bronze, Silver or Gold) to programs that pursue continuous quality improvement and meet a set of program standards to help infants, toddlers and preschool age children develop intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally. It provides a framework for early learning professionals to identify opportunities for improvement, increase their skills and take steps to make positive changes.
“We know that hands-on play is critical to child development,” said Adam Woodworth, executive director of the Children’s Museum in Oak Lawn, “and partnering with ExceleRate Illinois gives us an opportunity as an organization to do more for the families we serve.
